For those too-frequent days on the run, this wall unit offers a grab-and-go stash that doesn’t stint on design. The wire-frame holdall for everything from scarves in winter to a beach towel in summer is topped with an ash wood lid-shelf perfect for keys, pocket change or a phone. Or just leave it be, its sculptural effect, like that of the Cage Mirror, makes it perfect just as it is. Designed by Stockholm studio Form Us With Love for Danish house Menu, and available in powder-coated white or black.
MENU"It's about creating aesthetically pleasing designs that evoke true feelings,” Menu founder Bjarne Hansen told the online magazine Lonny, “as well as improving processes in people's daily lives.” Ranging from tabletop objects to bath fixtures to lighting and furniture, the Danish brand’s pursuit of "soft minimalism" involves collaborations with designers from all over the world. The company’s guiding spirit is a quest for functional originality—with each product having either a new purpose, incorporating a new material or utilizing a new production method.Menu is just as dedicated to responsible manufacturing as it is innovation. Working to locate new partners in developing countries around the world, the company searches out local factories or small private co-operations to turn out high quality goods and also provide a better economic foundation for the people involved in that production. 	FORM US WITH LOVE"We are hopelessly influenced by our strong design heritage of course, but at the same time we are utterly tired of it. The result is some kind of tweaked functionalism," say the trio known as Form Us With Love. John Löfgren, Jonas Pettersson and Petrus Palmér originally met as students in the same product design class at the university in Karlmar, Sweden. From the spacious Stockholm studio which also hosts exhibits from time to time, they now turn out their own take on modernism, achieved with a light hand and often an underlying humorous tone. As part of a new generation building Sweden's design legacy, they say, "It's great to see so much creativity spire among the young Nordic design community, with an ambition to investigate new genres, materials and expressions."Form Us With Love's output includes furniture and lighting for several internationally recognized design companies, including Canon, Design House Stockholm, Muuto, Philips and Stockholm Furniture Fair. The studio has been honored with numerous design awards, including Red Dot, Young Swedish Design Award and an I.D Magazine citation.
